This award, created in loving memory of Mr. Ed Knych, a Central New York native whose journey took him through military service in Indiana to a successful and impactful career as a Golf Professional in the Hoosier State, aims to recognize and support promising young student-athletes who enforce the spirit of dedication and passion for the game. Mr. Knych, who sadly passed away last year, left a lasting legacy on the golf community, and this award serves as a fitting tribute to his life and contributions.
Lyla Falkenmeyer, a remarkable female student-athlete from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, has been selected as the inaugural recipient.
